TV and Plex Server on different subnets
Hi all,
Is there any way of getting this to work when the TV and Plex server are on different subnets - all I need to do is enter the server's IP address somehow... I have full control over the firewall/router joining the two subnets so can edit what I like. Can it be done with a DHCP option or something even?

Channels don't work
Hello, I wanted only to know if it is a general problem or not. I try to play some channels on a LG TV 55W659S with the medialink, but they don't work. Also with the DLNA client on the TV they don't work, it displays the error message "invalid file type". Is it normal? Are channels not supported?

Plex fails after pause & resume
Hi all, I'm having an issue with my Plex. We are running PMS Version 0.9.12.18 & viewing on an LG UF850T via the PLAYz app connected via Ethernet. if we pause a movie or TV show and then resume, playback will continue for a couple of minutes & then quit to the launch screen. We then have to press play again & resume from last play location after which it is fine until the next time we pause & the issue starts again.
we used to have an issue with TV shows where after resuming from pause, playback would skip to the next episode, but we fixed this by disabling the auto load next episode in the options. but the quit after resuming from pause continues. Also, its important to note that this happens every time without fail.
I have tried changing some of the PMS settings but cant seem to figure out whats causing the issue.
I'm not much of a techy, so its probably something simple that I'm missing.
Has anybody else had this issue & know how to fix it.

Do I need to use my computer (Mac) to run a server for my LG Smart Tv
Hi Im trying NOT to use my computer (Mac Mini) for downloading/storing the Plex Server so that i can run it on my 2015 LG Smart TV -
Set Up : All Media is on two (2) WD Duo Live external hard drives - would like to stop using Mac Mini as the Plex server etc - is there a way of downloading server onto my LG smart tv and running it through X Play?

We really need an oficial plex player for LG Smart TV that works where the password is configured, because mine one has external access, so needs password. PlayZ Media does not work with passworded plex.

Why is the connection bad when watching with original stream options?
Movie starts playing after several seconds and uses a lot of buffertime. This only happens when watching on LG webos. When watching on an older LG smart tv with different os I don't have this problem.
When I change the stream options to a lower option the problem is solved on the LG webos, but then it's no longer in HD...
Is there a solution for this?

Get rid of other videos/music in LG Smartshare
I access my videos via Smartshare on the 2014 WebOS models. The streaming works great @1080p with no issues with any format I've thrown at it, but accessing my videos requires me to:
A. Show 'All' content
B. Change to folder view (which directly shows the DLNA server)
C. Move my way around the deep and annoying file structure of the DLNA server
I would be able to access my videos just through the video tab, but it's populated by a ton of web videos/results (from the server) that I can't seem to remove. I've removed all of my channels and even deleted the DLNA database file, but the results still show. Is there any way to get rid of these other results?

Delete conttent from Playz?
Hi,
Am I missing something or are you not able to delete content via Playz? I've checked "Allow media deletion" is ticked in plexmediaserver server settings, but I don't see any option in Playz to delete.

BBC iPlayer channel for LG TV (WebOS) always times out
Whenever I try and play any content in the BBC iPlayer channel on Plex for LG TV it says
"There was a problem playing this item
The video did not start playing in time".
This only happens on the Plex app for LG TV and only on the BBC iPlayer channel, if I play iPlayer in the Plex server in Safari on my MacBook then it starts to play content OK but if I then try and send to LG TV from the server the loading screen comes up and stays there forever and nothing plays.
If I go direct to the BBC iPlayer web site in Safari that works fine.
Also, the ITV Player channel in the Plex App on the LG TV is working OK. So this appears to be just a Plex for LG TV issue but only with the BBC iPlayer channel.
I'm in Australia and have a valid GetFlix account to get around Geo blocking.

PlayZ and PMS 0.9.14.6.1620
As I have an older LG TV I use PlayZ as there is no official Plex client. I upgraded to PMS 0.9.14.6.1620 and PlayZ seems unable to get any information on Video stored on the server. Just a constant "Working" message. It is still able to get an immediate list of photos and Music, but nothing for video files. I've downgraded back to 0.9.12.3.1173 and everything is working fine again, so something has changed in the later code which PlayZ cannot handle.
Is there anyway I can fix this ?

Trying to tunnel server to remote computer
Guys,
fist of all, if there is an easy way to do this, please suggest.
I have a server on my house.
And there is a LG tv on my syster house.
I have a ssh server on my house.
I am trying to tunnel the PMS server ports to my syster house computer and show my PMS on her TV.
I am directing 32400,32401,32410-32416 to her computer, but the PMS is not showing up on her TV.
What other ports do I have to tunnel to make this work?
Is there a way fot me to install PMS on her computer and map my server on her PMS? (another solution to this ?)

XPLAY not able to connect to server
I recently downloaded XPLAY for my LG Smart TV. I have a PLEX server running and can connect with multiple devices. When I try to log into the server from XPLAY I get an error message "Failed to connect to servername". I am using the same account credentials I use to log into the PLEX site. Why is this failing? I confirmed that the TV is on the same WIFI network as the server. Please help.
