Plex fails after pause & resume

Hi all, I'm having an issue with my Plex. We are running PMS Version 0.9.12.18 & viewing on an LG UF850T via the PLAYz app connected via Ethernet. if we pause a movie or TV show and then resume, playback will continue for a couple of minutes & then quit to the launch screen. We then have to press play again & resume from last play location after which it is fine until the next time we pause & the issue starts again.
we used to have an issue with TV shows where after resuming from pause, playback would skip to the next episode, but we fixed this by disabling the auto load next episode in the options. but the quit after resuming from pause continues. Also, its important to note that this happens every time without fail.
I have tried changing some of the PMS settings but cant seem to figure out whats causing the issue.
I'm not much of a techy, so its probably something simple that I'm missing.
Has anybody else had this issue & know how to fix it.
